Father Forgive Them For They Know Not What They Do

SEE HERE This link was sent to me by a friend on the left coast. It made me think about all the mindless violence in the world, not just the carnage of the children, but the Rwandan massacres, the millions dead in the 20th century from man's inhumanity to man. The whole thing speaks to a lack of the spirit of generosity and love in the world. The early Christians were spoken of as a new thing, "See these Christians, how they love one another." I very much doubt that very many people see Christians in that light today. It is a tragic reality that so many are lukewarm. Jesus said that He would spit them out. Ouch! And yet how often we value very limited transient goods over those eternal goods. We tolerate evil and settle for tolerance. Evil is intolerable and we should say so often. That would be embarrassing though. People might stop wanting to hang out with us. That's what settling is all about. When we settle for evil, letting it have a pass, we are culpable and will not escape some measure of judgment. That's why there is a Purgatory, because otherwise God would have to send everyone to Hell. He is not only not a tame lion, He's a just one. (A little nod towards my Narnian friends.)
