States Without Income Taxes, Fancy That!

SEE HERE If some states can do it, why can't all? For that matter maybe we should ask why the government needs all those taxes. What exactly am I getting that I want beyond the courts, the police, and the armed services? When I was a kid that was about all we were paying for and the liberals were complaining about the high cost of the military (about 70% of the budget then) now the military is down to less than 20% of the budget and is as big as it ever was, but now we've grown all sort of other intrusive and unhelpful, largely exaggerated programs that now cost nominally 3 and a half times what the military used to cost. Does this make sense? And it's never enough. There is always some wondrous thing that only the government can provide for us if we just let them tax us more. It's time to end the gravy train.
