Who Knows If This Is An Exaggeration Or Not?
SEE HERE A bit of redundancy is a good thing. It provides fail-safe performance and some degree of added reliability through more than one agency looking at the same stuff. But this, if true, sounds like tremendous overkill. Lack of oversight is a problem too, although the presence of oversight isn't all that helpful either judging from the effectiveness we've seen of Congressional oversight. Be aware however, that this kind of thing is a double edged sword. It comes with risks as well as advantages. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who guards the guards themselves?
