Obama Birth Certificate an Assembled Production

Here we go again! Apparently
"The View" ladies all saluted the new birth certificate. But after watching this video I'm inclined to think there is at least a reasonable case that it is fabricated. The fellow who did the video makes a reasonably cogent case. It's certainly difficult to understand exactly how the artifacts he points out are produced by a straightforward color scan. But they might result from some sort of fancy scanner that does multiple scans to assemble an image. I don't know enough about different scanner types to be sure one way or the other. There are also people out there saying there is a problem with the numbers since there are authentic birth certificates from later with earlier numbers suggesting that the number on the birth certificate doesn't fit the birth certificate stream in Hawaii. Now I'd personally like to see Obama's school records. After all he's been touted as the smartest president we've ever had by the numbskulls and usual suspects. It would pretty pretty funny to see his grades and discover just how brilliant he really was. I'm betting he didn't have a 4.0 average.

Liberal MO Alert: Stealth Trolls

SEE HERE Now it really is no surprise that liberals are liars. Indeed even that isn't all that precise because actually they often believe the lies they tell. They are brainwashed zombies who for the most part don't know how to recognize logic or an argument if they stumbled into one. But they are quite good at laying seeds of dissension and apparently there is a new and subtler form, must have bred in a few extra neurons. Subtlety has never been an adjective I'd apply to liberals or progressives, more a kind of snide superior sarcasm. But apparently a new form of conservative baiting is entering cyberspace, so look for it. It might be fun to learn to quickly classify the new MO and detect the vipers in our midst.

Bankrupting the Future: Spending Your Children's Future Is a Liberal Pastime

The Delusional Nature of Liberalism

SEE HERE The liberal myth that somehow capitalism is selfish and that collectivism is generous and selfless is contradicted by reality. Don't tell that to a liberal of course. They are too into their narrative to care about reality. STOSSEL echoes the theme.

Unions Are Destructive: There Has To Be a Better Way!

SEE HERE The failure of unions is caused by the unreasonable character of the demands they make. It's just a form of the abuse of power and no less attractive when workers do it than when management does it. Unions tend over the long run to destroy the businesses that give them their jobs in the first place. It is the tragic reality of a noble idea.

Fake ... ?? It Can't Be ... Not Our Honest and Sincere President Who Champions Transparency ...

SEE HERE The issue that won't go away, just won't go away.

Science Government Style: Buying the Result You Want!

SEE HERE
Science by Proxy It's all about writing grants and funding universities, not doing science.
The problem we have is that when you're throwing proposals against the wall to get government grants and such, you're not so much doing science as pleasing bureaucrats. I've seen that from the inside when I worked for the government. I recall one funding official from the Office of Naval Research telling another that he was proud that none of the research he'd ever funded had helped the Navy. I suppose that example doesn't mean that it wasn't science, but it does mean that he was suborning the process. Much of the climate "science" is about writing computer models and these are poorly validated judging from their inability to predict forward. Writing good models requires a true understanding of the science and in the area of climate the bottom line is that it isn't all that well understood.

James David Manning On the Birth Certificate

"Clear this matter and clear it now." Manning claims Obama was under pressure to deal with this issue. "Trust but Verify" says Manning. Manning doesn't think it is legitimate. He has this CIA theory about Obama that is interesting although I have no idea how much evidence he has for it. He put Obama "On Trial" almost a year ago.

Trump on the Birth Certificate and the College Records

We have a very strange president. That's certainly not an understatement. OPEC is ripping us off says Trump. Who can disagree with that? NEVER GIVE UP Even with a alleged long-form birth certificate in hand there are those continuing to wonder whether there's just more to it. The mystery is, if it is so simple, then why wasn't it produced before now? Perhaps we won't know. It doesn't change the fact that he is a terrible president well on his way to bankrupting the country.

Pointing Out the Depth of Our Victimization

SEE HERE Ann Coulter points out how skilled and helpful our government employees are. Of course I'm being sarcastic. It is the nature of all bureaucracies to grow exponentially while becoming less and less effective. Parkinson pointed this out a long time ago in a delightful little book masquerading as humor. It was all true, and funny too. Unfortunately what it all leads to isn't funny at all. We are all sinking in the slime of the nanny state.

SEE HERE Stick to your principles and cut the size of government.

Will This End the Chatter?

This looks like it ought to end all the birth certificate chatter. The question does remain:"What was that all about?" But here's a new step in what has been a strange odyssey. Will it end here? Someone is going to certainly want to see the originals if this isn't the original. It still looks like an abstract given the citation on the bottom, but now we have the hospital cited, etc. Unless there is something fundamental this ought to end what should not have been an issue except for the strange behavior of the president in not being willing to release it.

A Touch of Reality

"If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you're not a racist,
You'll have to vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you're not an idiot."

EPA "Environmental Propaganda Agency"

SEE HERE We really need to get the government out of our knickers. More importantly we have to get them out of the education (indoctrination) business while we still have something resembling a free society. LISTEN TO PROPAGANDA The nanny state continues to tell you exactly how they think you should live and how you should think. It's their way or the highway. That's called fascism, one size fits all tyranny. It didn't work in Russia, Italy, or Germany and it won't work here. Why is it any of their business? What ever happened to our individual rights to decide that we can do what we want as long as we pay for it? These folks'll have us all poor in no time.

QE#? Print More and More ... Wheelbarrows anyone? ...

Looking At One More Example of Political Correctness Gone Mad

SEE HERE One has to wonder what the next form of obscene or bizarre behavior will become a legally protected right while the nanny state tells us all what to do in every possible dimension of our lives. "Buckle up!" "Where's your helmet?" "Don't use transfats." "Don't burn your trash." "Go green!" "Throw our those incandescent light bulbs." "Don't eat red meat." "Buy more car seats for ever older children." ... Oh, yeah. "Don't take marriage seriously unless you're gay." The whole thing makes me want to throw up. I can't imagine the founding fathers looking down from the hereafter and thinking anything but, "Have they all gone mad?"

Just A Simple Explanation ... Now What?

SEE HERE Well that accounts for it. If Trump is right the reason that the NIC doesn't produce his birth certificate is that there isn't one in the Hawaii files. How simple an explanation. But then the question is, how do we know if he's eligible to be president and why wasn't this an issue at the time of his nomination? Where are the witnesses to his birth or the companions of his mother when he was a baby? Maybe he really was born in Kenya which would explain the claim that he took subsidies for foreign students while in school. Who else is party to this deception if he isn't natural born?

The First Easter Morning

Luke 24:1-8 1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. 8 And they remembered his words,... Matthew 28:1-6 1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
John 20:11-18 11 But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, 12 And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my LORD, and I know not where they have laid him. 14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the LORD, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

The Shroud of Turin

Matthew 27:59 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth ... Mark 15: 46-47 46 Joseph bought a linen cloth, took Him down, wrapped Him in the linen cloth and laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were looking on to see where He was laid.

Matthew 27: 57-66 Jesus is Placed in the Tomb and a Watch is Set

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: 58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. 61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, 63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. 64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. 65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. 66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

The Fifth Gospel Testifies to the Crucifixion

The Shroud of Turin has been called the fifth gospel. Each of the four gospels tell the story of the ministry, passion and death of Jesus Christ. The Shroud of Turin gets particularly up close and personal, carrying the wounds and image of Jesus as He lay in the tomb if it is authentic. If it is an artistic creation then it is a wonderful work of genius which depicts Jesus. It is worthy of meditation and contemplation.

But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities ... Isaiah 53:5

(Matthew 27:46-54) About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" 47 And some of those who were standing there, when they heard it, began saying, "This man is calling for Elijah." 48 Immediately one of them ran, and taking a sponge, he filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and gave Him a drink. 49 But the rest of them said, "Let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him." 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.
51 And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many.

54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

Holy Thursday:1 Corinthians 11:23-16

The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifof me.” 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

James David Manning Calls'em As He Sees'em Which Is Fun!

I don't know if Dr. James David Manning is on-target or not, but he's always emphatic and fun to listen to. Is he right? I don't know, but he may well be. Certainly Barack Obama is one of the strangest people to have ever occupied the presidency.

The Non-Archival Character of Modern Technology

SEE HERE I always get a kick out of people that imagine technology is a solution to everything. As often as not technology is more of a problem because it holds out such promise it has the capacity to create tipping points everywhere and sometimes these just run you into a brick wall. I was listening to a student presentation on the "Cloud" and all the potential that "Cloud Computing" would offer and it just reminded me of all the other hype I've been exposed to over the years. Somehow the next big thing is always going to solve our problems. I never knew I had so many problems and that some electronic doodad or other was going to be my salvation.

Now I have students who seem incapable of doing anything without talking on a cell phone or texting someone. I'm a techie and I like technology, but I think it should make us more independent, more capable and not more dependent and less capable. Unfortunately today most of my students can no longer write cursive and can't do much basic arithmetic without a calculator. I don't think that's an improvement. This Google thing just points up how technology offers you a capability, but if it doesn't work out, "Oh well!" and the rug is yanked out from under you. My basement is an archival storage site for quite a lot of trailing edge technology that was once the hope of the ages. Now it's just junk! Old computers, old floppy disks in several sizes, a zillion flash drive starting at a few megabytes and scaling up to many gigabytes. Has any of this stuff made my life better? Maybe in some marginal ways, but in other ways it actually drains the humanity out of life. We should probably all step back and ask some basic questions about where all this is going and if we really want to go there.

Ben Stein on Gloom and Doom Ahead

SEE HERE How seriously should be be concerned? I think that is a tough question, but given the sheer lack of concern of the average liberal I'd say very concerned. If you ever want a reality check you ask a liberal and then flip the result.

Ok, I'm joking ... sorta? I've been listening to doom and gloom all my life from one side the economic or political spectrum or the other. It seems as if no-one can deal in anything but extremes. It always seems like the sky is falling to the Chicken Little's of the world. Of course this means we're in the position of the boy who cried wolf.

I realize no-one tells these Aesop fables much any more, but the boy who cried wolf did so to get people's attention and he got a lot of it until people realized that he was just doing it for the attention and then when the wolf really came no-one came to help him. We really shouldn't let our guard down. The folks in Washington are either wolves or idiots and it doesn't seem to make much difference which. They have the economy on the ropes and they're still partying. Gold and silver both just made all time highs and people, serious people, are talking about six dollar gasoline by Summer. Meanwhile the idiots in Washington are saying: "Inflation? What inflation?" They must have people who do their shopping for them and don't tell them what is going on.

More Food for Thought

SEE HERE Carnage! Havoc! Holocaust! Genocide! Barbarism! War is often characterized these ways or has such things as accompanying phenomena. Numbers seem such cold and impersonal things until you reflect on the underlying realities. The problem we have these days is that we are ignoring fundamentals as we suck down our coca-cola and burgers and moan about obesity. Perhaps we should be more concerned about obscenities like these and as the demographics shift ask: "Where have all the children gone?"

Food for Thought

The world's largest army... America 's hunters! I had never thought about this.... A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number.
Over the last several months, Wisconsin 's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world.
More men under arms than in Iran ..
More than in France and Germany combined.
These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.
That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan 's 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home.
Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world.
The point?
America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.
Hunting -- it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security.

That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed.
Food for thought when next we consider gun control.

When the Government Fools In the Market the Taxpayer Loses

SEE HERE Here we go! We paid $50 billion to bail out GM and we end up losing $11 billion in the process. It's good that we don't lose the whole $50 billion. GM will just tank again. When you bail out a business you immunize it from the market and make it more non-competitive and then it gets more dependent. GM, if they can't make it as a car company, should die in peace and the healthy parts, if any, would rise from the ashes. I'm not going to buy a GM car so except that the government is giving away my tax dollars, I'm not involved.

BTW for all the electric car lovers ... a bit of news: They require electricity and by the time you've generated that, transmitted it to the charging location via transmission lines, and charged your electric car the idea that you've accomplished anything for the environment is a complete delusion. Get over it. But you can get a Volt for $32K and some change. Oh boy! I'll bet the lines are out the door ....

The Price of Stupdity Is Economic Collapse

SEE HERE I used to use a phrase that enraged one of my bosses. As the Director of Engineering I was used to having marketing collect all the data sheets on competitor's products and then put a data sheet together with all the great features of all the products combined and then a price which was lower than all the other prices and present that to me as a requirement for our own product development. The phrase was "Wishing doesn't make it so." There is just no genie in a bottle to make the magic happen. Marketing would be indignant but they didn't understand that just wanting something didn't make it do-able.

California seems to be in that same mindset. They want everything for nothing. They want this phony-baloney thing called sustainable energy without acknowledging its outrageous costs. They want generous benefits without paying for them. Reality is a difficult thing and a hard test, but it doesn't really make any difference because "Wishing doesn't make it so."

Get Ready for the Sad Stories that It is Somebody Else's Fault

SEE HERE The president is campaigning already, but now the narrative has shifted from hope and change to scorched earth and fear. He's going to protect us from those evil Republicans. The only problem is that what we need protecting from is his wasteful profligate policies that have taken us to the brink of financial collapse. We can't afford another Obama administration. Now I'm not impressed with the current crop of Republicans very much either, but they're a whole lot better than the Democrats and if we can get people in who have principles and will stick to them then we can still turn this around. If not, well then it's going to be difficult, very difficult.

Sheer Stupidity and Arrogant Stupidity At That

SEE HERE Let's see... hmmm... we want to talk about illegal immigration and guess what? We exclude the border states. Sure that's the ticket! What do I think? I think the government has simply lost its collective mind. We are experiencing government by special interest and by thuggery. The Democrats have descended to being the party of collective bribery of the lower classes with myths about the predatory practices of the upper classes and the clear agenda of swelling the voter based by whatever means, legal or illegal, to gain power and influence.

At the same time the Republican party has over and over pretended to be the party of principle but when they get to Washington, over and over, become the party of appeasement and predatory practices -lite. They offer the same agenda just a little slower. When are we going to face up to the fact that with either party with business as usual, we are on a track to lose what freedom we have left. It's long past time for a change, a big change!

This would be Hysterical If It Were Not So Pathetic

Can this guy not tell how biased he is? "Obama is trying to be the grown-up" ... This is pure blather. You gotta give Brent credit for not laughing in this fellow's face. Notice his tone while you're listing. It comes across to me as condescending and arrogant. The problem is that facts are not important to the liberal media. They just spin and spin. It is actively sickening. Hysterically pathetic!

Stossel makes a good call!

SEE HERE I agree with Stossel on this call. Police on the streets have no special right to privacy. They are public servants acting for the public. They should be proud to be videoed doing their jobs. It's a problem if they are not, for rather obvious reasons. The only people who need that kind of privacy, privacy on the streets, are people who are up to no good. Those kinds of laws should be overturned.

This Should Be Interesting

This whole birth certificate thing has been the story that will not go away. Now we're getting a whole book about it and it's being seriously hyped. Will it really tell us who Barack Obama is or just be another speculative work. I've always thought it was outrageous that McCain's citizenship was questioned when both his parents were citizens, but the media basically gave Obama a pass. So much for the impartial media.

Alan West on the Obama Presidency

"They don't want to hear the truth." They are living in lala land where you can do whatever you want and no-one will question you. The media is a total failure. Laura says that the competence factor will finally bring Obama down. He continues with "reprehensible failing policies." Alan West has the NIC's number.

Palin in Wisconsin: "We're here, we're clear. Get used to it!"

Palin electrifies the crowd. Walker trying to "save your jobs and your pensions." The union bosses don't understand, want to protect their own power. Real solidarity means coming together for the common good. Stand up GOP and fight, "You need to learn to fight like a girl." You tell'em Sarah. They sure are wimps.

Dumb and Dumber ... Why are we in Libya?

SEE HERE What aspect of national interest are we defending in Libya? Where are all the liberals who castigated George Bush for starting a war in Iraq when a war is started in Libya, a country we have far less interests in? I am so sick of the hypocrisy of the left that I could just spit. Buchanan shows how few clothes the emperor, ur, the NIC, and NATO too for that matter have on. We jumped into this with exactly no consideration whatsoever. There wasn't a whimper to the Congress and the whole thing makes no particular sense. Whose interests are really being pursued?

Addiction to Spending Money You Don't Have

Can You Hear Me Now?

It's going to be interesting to watch the coming blame game after all the Obama-Zombies drive us off a cliff and suddenly a different piper has to be paid, the one holding all the bad paper. Increasingly that looks like us. All those nice green pieces of paper won't be worth nearly as much soon, chillingly soon, if we don't do something soon, like real soon

.

Is This A Suprise? ... The NIC Thinks He's King

SEE HERE I guess the budget deal isn't much of a deal when the players don't agree to play by the rules. When are Republicans going to get it, that Democrats never play by the rules. Negotiations with Democrats are pointless because the only reason the Democrats negotiate at all is to get the other side to agree to vote for something and then they go right back to doing whatever it is they want to do paying no attention to any agreements. They are simply a dishonorable and dishonest bunch. The proper response is to stop bothering to negotiate or to put fangs in the negotiations that make it embarrassingly clear that there are consequences to not honoring the agreement. Joseph Sobran didn't call the Republicans "the stupid party" for no reason at all. After Lucy pulls the ball out a few time Charlie Brown, you should stop letting her hold the football.

Trump Has A Point — We Ignore It at Our Risk!

SEE HERE Whatever you say about Trump, it's hard to entirely disagree with him that Bush and Rove gave us Obama. I think he left off all the Democrat hate speech and propaganda which lied a lot about Bush, but you also can't ignore the many areas where Bush was a failure just because he was a success in some areas. I've never seen what anyone sees in Karl Rove. I've never been impressed with anything the man ever did that I saw. The Republicans need to get focused on something vaguely resembling Republican principles instead of their "as usual" Democrat-lite agenda. They are as much a part of the problem as the Democrats.

U.S. Credit Rating Lowered

SEE HERE Gee, fancy that! If we don't start doing something that makes sense it will get a whole lot worse. Wait until we start getting dumped as the reserve currency. You want to see inflation? Wait until all the dollars come home to roost!! Stock up on basic food stuffs because you might get hungry when it takes a wheelbarrel full of greenbacks to buy a bowl of soup. Sanity may not return until then.

Trump Says He'll Only Run as a Republican: Obama Must Lose!

Trump/West has a nice ring!

Multi-Culturalism Has Failed: Game Over!

SEE HERE In case this video gets taken down (something that is a warning that always accompanies videos that say things that don't fit the politically correct message of the moment) I'll just summarize it by saying it is a video that shows the complete disaster than multi-cultural accommodation to Islam as become in France. Western societies all over Europe that extended a welcome to Islam are all increasingly seeing that Islam does not accommodate to Western values. Instead they collect in enclaves, grow in strength, and then impose their political and religious values on their neighbors by the force of government. There is a reason they were tossed out of Spain

Those Who Fail To Learn the Lessons of History are Doomed to Relive Them

Take Charge Of Your Life and Stop Playing the Debt Game

SEE HERE This is a nice little piece that ought to remind us that the kind of instant gratification by plastic credit card has not been the way Americans always have been. Disciplined and frugal people survive in hard times while the grasshoppers starve (I muddled that a little ... you have to read the Aesop fable about the ants who are diligent and the feckless grasshopper) but I digress. Pay off your debts and start saving something in the form of enduring value. If you can't pay your debts off then you have way too much debt.

The Delusional Character of Current Government

SEE HERE What are they smoking in Washington? Powerful stuff given the delusions that it is inducing. First delusion: That an actual cut of 352 million is a cut of 38 billion. That's a ten to one delusion of little things looking hugely bigger then they actually are. Second delusion: the rich are at fault because they are not paying enough tax. That's such a whopper it's hard to keep from collapsing in amazement at the degree of nonsense. The rich essentially pay all the taxes. Almost half of the tax payers pay no income taxes at all. If you simply confiscate all the income of those making $100K or more you still wouldn't cover the deficit. It's scary that they get away with this kind of nonsense. It looks more and more like when reality sets in it will be too late.

Illegal Contributions Not Unusual for the Obama Campaign

SEE HERE And what is that all about? It seems stunning that Obama, a political unknown with no experience to speak of in anything but trouble making (community organizing) and a brief stint in the Illinois Senate should have raised three quarters of a billion dollars for a presidential run in 2008. There has to be a very interesting story behind that and it's likely dishonest since foreign contributions are illegal. Is that true? Sure and it's been known about for a long time so why is an investigation only now getting off the dime? SEE HERE FOR OLD NEWS Bizarre! But everything about this guy seems to be bizarre.

Mark Levin on the Trump Candidacy: He's Got a Record that Doesn't Gibe Too Well With His Current Narrative!

SEE HERE I suppose I should say HEAR HERE Mark Levin isn't too thrilled with Donald Trump as a candidate. His primary argument being that if Trump has bonefides as a "conservative" candidate or a Tea Party friendly candidate then he has a lot of strange political contributions. I don't think Trump's position that it was just business is quite as ridiculous as Levin makes out, but you can't discount them entirely. I was more impressed by the policy research. We need a better candidate than Trump.

That being said Trump looks better than most of the lack-luster Republican pack that are being retreaded for a 2012 run. Trump's big plus in my book is "no strings attached" ... he's independently wealthy and his own person. He's not a Washington politician or any other kind of politician. I like Trump/Alan West! That would be interesting. Business and military ... people with experience of reality and not the plastic beltway crowd.

Then on the other hand Levin has a point too ... does Trump have too much baggage? Who knows? Nowadays we have the search for dirt and the mud-slinging fest as part of the political scene thanks to the loss of character which epitomizes the country these days.

Embarassed by the Failure? Lie About It! Oh Yeah — Cover Your Tracks!

SEE HERE The sheer amount of lying that goes on about global warming nonsense is amazing. I think people seem to finally be figuring out that the emperor has no clothes and that the reason is that there is no climate crisis, only a bunch of people who want to manufacture a crisis in order to gain power and influence and control. I really get annoyed with all the lying that is going on. SEE HERE TOO

"Rummie" In His Own Speak

Frankly I consider Donald Rumsfeld to be a very smart and very effective public servant. It is a bit bewildering to me that he's been so thoroughly demonized by the left as if somehow he's some evil Machiavelli who orchestrated all kinds of evil during the Bush administration. The interview is up front and candid and apparently Rumsfeld has put up a website which thoroughly documents the material in his book. One thing liberals are rarely long on is facts. Rhetoric is their specialty and much of it is crafted out of their imagination and not out of facts in the real world.

Government by Dole and Handouts!

SEE HERE I was brought up to be proud of being my own person, being independent and self-sufficient. I was taught that it was my responsibility to take care of myself and my loved ones and not to be a burden on others. I was taught that it was shameful for an able bodied person to fail to strive and instead be on the take. I was taught not to have my hand out but to give others a hand up. The government is recruiting to put as many people as possible on the dole. This is creating a culture of dependency and it's detrimental to the state. Frankly I think it is disgraceful. We should be helping those who are in difficult straits to get back on their feet and be productive not encourage more and more to settle back with their hands out and their feet up. Will the last American please turn the lights out.

The Sheer Stupidity of the Liberal Narrative

Soak the rich! ... Hmmm... that doesn't work. We're totally fried ... The reality of the liberal narrative is that it's bunk, sheer bunk. Tell the next liberal you run into that spins this story that they are full of it up to their eyeballs.

In Case You're Under Any Illusions

SEE HERE The insanity of it all is that it's insane. If there is one thing that is totally crazy it is the notion that our money means anything any more. With trillions being fabricated out of the clear blue sky and being sunk who knows where by the Fed, one has to wonder how long it can go on before the cold harsh freezing breath of reality locks the whole system up and it crashes? The list of government craziness just keeps getting longer and longer whether it is TSA groping little girls and old ladies to keeping kids from bringing their own lunches to school because, horrors, they might contain some food that the food-Nazis don't approve of. The whole nanny government is out of control and populated by doctrinaire lunatics.

Meanwhile the Liar In Power uses the bully pulpit to demonize rational people. SEE HERE Apparently we are doomed to suffer the collapse so easily anticipated because it is part of the political bargain that the Marxists have made with the unions. After all, if capitalism doesn't collapse on its own, then it can certainly be induced to do so by undermining the currency and demonizing the productive.

Who Owns the Debt?

SEE HERE The Chinese own some of it, but we own much more of it.

Sure Doesn't Make Me Feel Safer

SEE HERE Let's see now ... these are the same folks that are groping prospective passengers in airports around the country ...

It Keeps Getting Worse and Worse

SEE HERE The liars in Washington are into smoke and mirrors in a big way because they are in such denial. They've become so addicted to spending the money that they don't earn, merely extorting it from the taxpayers, that now that the gravytrain is running out of gravy they are in total denial and as usual this leads to all sort of chicanery as they start pretending that if they ignore it long enough it will go away. When the system tanks they'll get the message that it's GAME OVER! But by that time it will also be extremely difficult to salvage anything. I'm much more in favor of a soft landing that the kind of total catastrophe that will crunch us if we keep pretending there's really no problem. We only have on lever and that's the vote. So it's time to start sending a lot of messages. Unfortunately the only people in worse denial than the politicians seem to be most of the voters who want to keep receiving their fix from Washington. That's the way it works with addicts.

When Is Inflation Not Inflation?

SEE HERE Frankly the whole idea that I have to have the government tell me if there is any inflation is rather silly. I have a couple of infallible indicators like a) the price of a pound of bacon, and b) the cost to fill my tank at the gas station. That may be a narrow metric, but it's a pretty good indicator and if my food budget is going up it's not because I'm eating more or eating better. The government hinges a lot of things on the CPI and they have an ulterior motive for keeping the number down since it also keeps their expenses lower. It's all about the money stupid. And when it's about government, it's all about power and greed. When the NIC tells you he has your best interests at heart, make sure he doesn't have his hand on your wallet already. (NIC = Narcissist In Charge for those who came late to the party.)

History In the Eye of the Beholder

SEE HERE History is written by the victors. I don't know how many times I've heard that. Moreover, history is just-so stories, often told with the intention to influence the present just as everything President Obama utters. We would probably prefer history to be about what actually happened, but people rarely unpack the dense mish-mash of ideas and concepts, presuppositions and cultural norms that make up not only the tissue of the history but the manifest complexity of understanding it properly. We tend to see history through the lenses of our own presuppositions at the present time. I just got a copy of Milton Friedman's book "Money Mischief" subtitled "Episodes in Monetary History." Much of what is going on currently would have been totally incomprehensible to our forefathers of only a little over a hundred years ago. The income tax is a relatively recent thing on the American scene dating only from 1913 with the passage of the 16th amendment.

The people who passed that amendment would be horrified by what it has produced. Increasingly we live in a nation where many people have lost their sense of personal responsibility and imagine that it is the duty of their neighbor to take care of them. That is a rather huge exaggeration of the real situation. We all have a duty to help one another, but we also have a duty to do everything we can, to the extent of our ability, to help ourselves first. The current political scene is one of ever deeper irresponsibility. That's an unstable and unsustainable trend which necessarily ends catastrophically.

Figures Don't Lie but Liars Figure

SEE HERE Generally I'm disgusted with government and with politicians. If it were not for the fact that I have a responsibility as a citizen to be involved I'd chuck the whole thing. These folks have no intention of solving the problem. They are driving off a cliff and whistling and partying the whole time. When we're in free fall the sob's will start pointing fingers at everyone but themselves and blaming the rest of us. It's time to clean house and start over.

Belaboring the Obvious

The Things Liberals Think Are Important Tell You What Kind of People They Are

SEE HERE It's true of course. Show me the things a man is willing to go to the wall for and I'll tell you something about his values. It appears that killing babies is very high on the liberal agenda. There is only one creature who hates mankind more than liberals and that is Satan. Those in his service do his will and serve him. He was a murderer from the beginning and his sons and daughters carry on his work seeking always to shelter it in the cover of platitudes and sweet reason of a perverted and perverse blend. So has it always been no less from the time of Moloch to the current time of Mammon.

Jib-Jab Obama Send Up

This is funny ... it would be funnier if it were not so pathetically true. This is the most pathetic presidency on record. He will shortly have the Carter record of being worse than Carter, not an enviable proposition. Here's a quote from Money and Markets today: "Import prices just exploded higher by 2.7% last month after a 1.4% surge in February. ... On an annualized basis, that means import price inflation is running at a rate of over 32% without compounding!" Whoo hoo! All hell is going to break loose if this kind of thing continues.

Hilarious Send Up of Obama Administration and the Media

AMAZING
Just click on the link for a popup video a bit over 4 minutes that will bring a smile to you face and make you realize just how big a mistake the Obama administration is and how failed the media are in their posturing as unbiased reporters of the state of the world. I loved it and couldn't keep a smile from breaking out on my face through the whole thing. Great fun!

Trump Trumps Obama and GOP Contenders in Poll

SEE HERE Donald Trump generates a lot of excitement in a Newsmax poll. The significance of this is hard to gauge since the poll is self-selected from Newsmax readership which is likely more conservative than the at large voter base. Nevertheless the results do seem to indicate a lot of voter dissatisfaction with the status quo. Trump is a face at once familiar and not involved with politics as usual. It's a long way to the 2012 elections however.

Obamacare Is the Issue

SEE HERE We have this "lala land" mentality that seems to take over the neurons of the political set inside the Washington beltway. Money no longer means anything so trillion dollar deficits are just "ho-hum" and Obamacare is just another minor sidelight to enjoying the perks of power. The problem is that this ignoring of the real issues is killing us all. Each babystep down the perilous path to dissolution carries us further from any possible recovery. It's hard to know when the tipping point will be reached, but reached it will be if we do not draw back and begin to reform the government and restore sanity to the processes. We're seeing nothing but whistling past the graveyard now and a lot of posturing by those sent to fix things. I'm too old to be caught up in the worst of it, but I feel sorry for my children and my grandchildren who will pay the price for the current irresponsibility.

Bipartisanship — When the Stupid Party and the Evil Party Get Together

SEE HERE It's a shame that they let the brain dead run for political office. Often stupid manages to be just as bad as evil but in combination, stand back. It's going to be a helluva ride!

The End of the Beginning or the Beginning of the End

The truth, nothing but the truth will do. We've been lied to too long. It's time to put up or shut up. What's so secret about your birth if you're legitimate?

Pallin — A Touch of Candor

"Men Without Chests" Is It Any Wonder We're Bleeding to Death?

SEE HERE Isn't it time to find some politicians that are Conservative and have spines that are made out of something besides jelly. It gets embarrassing after a while to send people who look like Conservatives, sound like Conservatives up to Washington only to see them turn into some sort of wimpish jellyfish. It is totally pathetic.

Coming Face to Face with Ultimate Realities

I confess that I'm hooked on Peter Kreeft. He writes very interesting and provocative books. He's also a Lewisian (C.S. Lewis) and a Chestertonian (G.K. Chesterton) and a Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien) like me. So we share a common universe. I've been reading his little book "Jesus Shock" for a spiritual book club that I'm in and I highly recommend it.

Most Christians are not involved enough in their Christianity. They take it for granted. They treat it more as a social club than an ontological commitment. Kreeft's book is a wake-up call. It is much more than that. It's about the ultimate reality that we all face. Who is our Lord and Master? We only have one chance to get it right and if we're not taking it seriously we're probably getting it wrong.

The Stupid Party Strikes Again

SEE HERE Joseph Sobran characterized the Republicans as "the stupid party." They seem to have their heart in the right place but over and over and over again they blow it. It reminds me of Lucy taking the football away just as Charlie Brown is going to kick it ... over and over and over again and Charlie is always gulled into doing it again. Well substitute the Democrats for Lucy and the Republicans for Charlie Brown. Don't get me wrong. I subscribe to most of the Republican principles, only I think, unlike apparently the elected Republicans, that when you have principles you act like it and stick to them. The Republicans are always making deals with Democrats, giving up just a little here and a little there so that we never get Republican principles actually enforced only Democrat lite, you know, for bipartisanship and compromise. Of course when the Democrats are in control you don't see any bipartisanship, only demonization and rejection. Let's get at least one thing straight: We are on a path that leads to dissolution of the republic. The Democrats want to fast track it and the Republicans want to stop it, but are short on follow-through. If we can't get people of principle who will stick to their principles into power, we simply will sink into the slime of history as just one more failed experiment.

The Bottom Line Is That You Have to Fight For What You Believe In

SEE HERE Dick Morris makes the point that has to be drilled in over and over. You can't pretend to be a Conservative and then go be a quitter. You either stand on principle or you reveal yourself to be someone whose principles are for sale. Which is it? We have to keep changing these folks until we find some with spines.

Adult Conversation ... Ideas ... Democrats HAHAHAHAHAHA!

SEE HERE The whole idea of Democrats engaging in any adult conversation that wasn't smutty made me laugh so hard I split a gut.

Save Money: Shutdown Homeland Security

SEE HERE Gee, let's spend a lot of money on a lot of losers and pretend we're protecting the American people. What a concept? Oh, I'm too late. They're already doing it. It's called Homeland Security and a more feckless group you'd be hard to find unless it was the EPA or some of the other losers sucking down on the government at your expense. Government is supposed to be about governing not interfering and discovering more and more things to regulate. We need to start shrinking government not increasing it. I think we should start with Homeland Security and work backwards towards 1900.

The Fed Is Murdering the Middle Class

SEE HERE Here you go! This is what happens when the Fed just prints money. It drives inflation and the people who are hurt the worst by inflation are those who are the economic mainstream, the Middle class. The poor are hurt too of course, but they are also partially immunized by various distribution programs. The Middle class is just pushed down. The rich have lots of strategies they can adopt to avoid the most serious damage, but the Middle class generally just get squeezed.

The Insanity Continues ... Let's Shut Down EPA Too!

SEE HERE Frankly I've never seen much use for the EPA. I think the several states can take care of environmental issues just fine without nanny government intervening. Moreover, when the EPA starts regulating based on trendy bad science then that's the last straw. Yeah, they've been doing it for a while, but it's time to stop the shenanigans and close the government regulatory agencies that cause more trouble then they help.
