The Brights? Well Not So Much ...
I'm always astounded that all these new atheists think they are so smart. It's fairly obvious that they are almost totally clueless. They don't understand the concept of God at all which is why they don't believe in Him. I wouldn't believe in the profoundly stupid idea they have about God either. Science isn't all that special. It's a process for seeking truth about things that are directly observable. But lots of things are not directly observable and not even easily discerned. Ethics for example is something that science has no particular way of addressing. Right and wrong depend not on observables exactly but on an internal standard and where exactly does that come from? Fr. Barron takes it on.
