Just Shut Up and Send In Your Taxes

Harry Reid has the unmitigated gall to suggest that those who reject the Government take-over of health care are like those who resisted the abolition of slavery. I submit that what is being resisted is the arbitrary expansion of government power, i.e. the enslavement of the American citizen to an unresponsive cabal of mandarins who sit smugly lording over the rest of us from Washington.

  1. It is especially upsetting for such a remark to be made when the "benighted South" produced one of History's most virtuous men, General Robert E. Lee. Also, Thomas Jackson, when a small lad, taught a slave to read and write in exchange for pine knots so that he could stay up later in the evening and read his books. Both men opposed the Union and I think it was not over the abolishment of slavery. It shows Mr. Reid's true colours when he makes such a comment. It is one thing to make a comment and be ignorant of the facts, it's another to be educated and pervert the facts for the sake of political image; though a man of principle and in politics is of a rare breed.
