People live in apartments smaller than some of these sheds. The cost of housing is very expensive and it could be reduced with more advanced housing technology, but the government mandates that too. Most of our problems are caused by government because the idiots think they know more than everyone else. Mostly that is not only not true, but extraordinarily not true. Just go to your average government agency and try to get some help and see what a "better form of life" actually looks like. Pleased? I didn't think so.

Bring Back Cap Pistols

I remember my very first cap pistol.  It was a pirate pistol which simulated a two barrel flint lock pistol.  It had two hammers that were controlled by a single trigger and the hammers fell down on square caps you had to put into a slotted receiver.  Because it was so nicely designed it make a good loud bang when the caps went off.  It was terrific fun.  Later I had other cap pistols along the lines of the Wild West revolvers.  They took coils of caps and were not nearly as loud as the pirate pistol.

SEE HERE I got called on the claim that there have been over 900 Executive Orders signed by the president so I went to the source of the article I originally cited, Warren Beatty.  HERE  The number you get by subtracting Obama's first executive order from the latest is only about 129 so what gives.  Well what gives is all the Executive Orders have not been numbered, all have not been original, many have merely been modified.  The overall pattern however is a bit chilling.  It reveals a Chief Executive that is acting more like a dictator than an American president.

SEE HERE Now this is strange.  This is either true or false.  If it is true then all hell is going to break loose and it's hard to decide who wins.  It is also so vague that it is probably a red herring to create an atmosphere that would justify the stories being bandied about that DHS is planning for some sort of event.  If it is false than it's a disinformation move on the part of someone which may stimulate a justification for a reaction, so even false is not a get out of jail free card.

I've been aware of politics and general political events since the latter part of the Truman administration and there have been all sorts of weird things over the years.  This kind of stuff is way over the top on any measure I've experienced in my life.  I could give a list of outrageous U.S. government events that seemed unacceptable for a nation like ours but except for some fiction I've read I've never seen anything like this.  True or false we're in a period of amazing conspiracy theories and wild assertions and expectations.  Has the world gone crazy?

SEE HERE I don't know what to make of this stuff ... it gets more and more surreal.  I began worrying about the direction our country was taking when the American citizens started getting targeted with violence.  Ruby Ridge and the attack on the Branch Davidian complex in Waco, Texas was the beginning of my total loss of trust in the government.  It has only gotten more surreal with time.  The free republic that the Founders envisioned seems under serious attack and very few seem to be concerned.  So exactly what is going on?

Here's a much earlier report.  It tends to sound like alarmism to me but it coordinates with a lot of other information which makes me cautious ... this report is from this past May.  The predictions of economic collapse have not yet happened and may not happen.  We are on an adverse track, but this stuff is likely excessive.  What is strange is some of the activity reported to be occurring in the DHS.

SEE HERE I know this feeling very well. I was my mother's executor and it was a heartrending experience going through the house and trying to decide what to toss and what to keep. There were wonderful photo-albums of people I had never seen before and didn't recognize. There were all the knick-knacks of a long life. I'm the oldest of ten so it was really difficult trying to figure out how to give everyone fair access to all the "treasures." I tried to run an auction so that my brothers and sisters could bid against each other to value the items and that worked well enough, but some just seemed to think they should be able to go through the house and grab what they wanted. You can't please everyone and sometimes it feels like you can't please anyone. I'm glad it's done but I still have boxes of stuff that I can't quite bear to throw away and I ought to just scan and give copies of the scans to all my brothers and sisters. But that's not easy either. It's tough being an immortal in a mortal body. Hopefully the next model will be better.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Press Conference — July 17th

SEE HERE and HERE I just spent the last hour watching Sheriff Arpaio's follow press conference and the new information is 1) the alleged birth certificate is clearly forged (this based on the layering content in the pdf file which was discussed back in March), 2) new information shows that in addition the birth certificate contains Hawaiian codes added to the document which indicate that certain spaces have no information, but in fact there is information in those places in the document meaning that the information was added to the document after it was recorded and generated (hence inauthentic information).  This shows that the document even if it were genuine has been tampered with.

In addition the team sent to Hawaii found that the procedures of Hawaii are such that a birth certificate doesn't necessarily mean that a person was actually born in Hawaii since Hawaii has a procedure to register and issue birth certificates to people who simply go in and say that someone was born there.  This tends to weaken the authority of any Hawaiian birth certificate.

My own sense of the evidence is that there is simply no question but that the birth certificate put up on the White House web site is without any question a forged and blatantly modified document.  The problem with the sequence number on the birth certificate came up and was not entirely clear in my mind how it happened that the Obama birth certificate has a sequence number later than twins that were born earlier.

CONCLUSIONS:  My conclusions are 1) the birth certificate has been thoroughly confirmed to be a forgery, 2) the research shows further that the document has internal evidence that it has been modified since it has Hawaiian codings (actually Federal codings create by the Hawaiian authorities) that indicate certain fields in the document were not completed but those non-completed fields now have data in them. 3) the Hawaiian procedures for creating birth registration is a National Security threat since even an adult can come in and get a birth certificate registered if they have "parents" who lived in Hawaii at the time of the alleged birth thereby allowing an easy way to evade immigration law and get apparently authentic U.S. citizenship.

TROUBLING: What I found most troubling was that the news media when questions were opened up went immediately into attacking the sheriff and the Cold Case Posse and made no attempt to understand clearly the evidence that had been presented.  They were insulting, abusive, and agenda driven and completely off the topic of the press conference.  This is not news coverage, it is pure unadulterated agenda driven spin.

The VP needs to balance the ticket not try to be so boring that Mitt looks like something special by comparison.  The only think John McCain did right in his whole campaign was pick Sarah Palin as his running mate.  But then they failed to use her effectively.  If there is something worse than these lackluster candidates it is the hollow zombies that they hire as campaign professionals.  They are a bunch of empty suits more plastic than the candidates.  We really need to change the way politics is done in this country to get back to having real people run.  We've made it so painful that only the real dedicated power hungry losers are motivated enough to run.  That's not the way to run a great nation.  It's not even the way to run a small business.  Perhaps it explains how a total narcissist with no experience doing anything in particular could become president of the United States.

Consensus Is Meaningless In Science — It's All About the Data

SEE HERE Now that we know so much more about the "true believers" in global warming, climate change we know that the so-called consensus was manufactured and largely untrue. We also see many of the scientists with a shred of integrity jumping ship as the degree of the fraudulent science is revealed and the unethical behavior is exposed.

The whole thing is a scam and serious scientists are increasingly concerned about the damage that has been and is being done to the credibility of science. Science is all about the data. Science is also transparent. If you can't get the data then it might as well not exist and perhaps it doesn't. Real scientists publish their data, they don't fudge it or manufacture it or make up fake effects to get the results they want. Increasingly what "real climate scientist" means is that you're a government flack taking money to produce a preconceived, agenda driven result.

One interesting things is the comments in the attached letters which are mostly alarmists reciting the mantras.  When all the comments sound like the same sorry talking points you have a pretty good idea that the folks reacting are just trolls.  It is true that Michael Mann has been white washed but it is also true that his hockey stick is bad science and phony analysis.  So what does it mean that he's been cleared?  Does it mean that he's too stupid to know his own analysis is phony.  I suppose stupidity is a defense.

Have I Mentioned That Government Funded Science Is Highly Politicized?

SEE HERE It isn't just global warming that gets politicized, it's everything.  The government doesn't fund science out of the goodness of its heart.  It funds science to get defined results often as not.  So the science is subordinated to the agenda.  It's pathetic sometimes.  I remember years ago when I worked for the U.S. Navy as a scientist when a couple of the Washington bureaucrats that worked for the Office of Naval Research bragged to me that nothing they had ever funded had done the Navy any good.  At the time I was deeply offended and that feeling still nags at me that people taking their daily bread from the Navy were proud that the science that they managed had never been helpful to the Navy.  That kind of thinking permeates the whole government bureaucracy in some places stronger than others, but the idea that they are the wise managers of the direction of science is part of their conceit.

It all reminds me of the joke about the guy on a park bench making very strange noises all day.  People asked him what he was doing and he said "Scaring away the elephants."  The people said "There are no elephants around here."  He answered, "Very effective isn't it?"  Well that's what's happening with all this global warming nonsense.

SEE HERE  Thomas Sowell presents a much told tale that the Liberals refuse to get despite it being demonstrated over and over when their brain-dead policies are actually implemented.  We're on the wrong side of the Laffer Curve idiots.  When you raise taxes you actually get less revenue because the people who have to pay the taxes change their behavior to lower their net obligations or they just quit working so hard since it is pointless if you can't keep what you earn.  This has been demonstrated over and over but you can't defeat an idiot who is captivated by a single on-dimensional and wrong idea.

It's called corruption folks! Perhaps the stupidest thing on earth is having courts decide on the reasonableness of scientific points.  Sorry science is not based on testimony in court.  CO2 is an essential plant nutrient.  It is crazy to want to reduce it substantially.  In the past it has been much higher than it is today and there is almost no evidence that human activity contributes to the CO2 level.  It's junk science which is all we get from the media these days.  I think it must be in part because science is actually difficult so that no journalist, or very few, get anywhere close to it in college.  The superficial coverage extends beyond science however to the corrupting power of government when it manipulates science to motivate results that allow it to extend its power.  Ultimately reality will intervene, but then as Keynes said "In the long run we are all dead."

Smart money fleeing Spain, Greece close to collapse, most of the EU is big trouble.  Spending more of the tax payers' money and kicking the can down the road will not work much longer because the situation is approaching the tipping point.  We need a clean sweep before we go off the cliff.  We need to back off the crippling regulation and punishment of success.  If we don't then we're set to hit the wall, the only variable is the velocity with which we hit.  We need to climb on the train of history and put on the breaks and change the direction.

This guy's summary precedes a commercial for buying gold.  You should discount it a little on that basis alone.  However, watch the price of gold because gold does at least two things: 1) it signals the value of the dollar, a) rising gold prices means the dollar is getting weaker, b) falling gold prices means the dollar is getting stronger, and 2) sudden jumps in the price of gold signal economic instability, big moves of soft currency into gold so that sudden large jumps signal trouble, sudden downward moves signals reevaluation.  You could do much worse than watching the price of gold as an indicator.

SEE HERE Allen West is a courageous man.  It is little surprise that the left is targeting him.  They have striven to redistrict him and now are targeting him.  It would be sad for his voice to be silenced.  He was disciplined for scaring the truth out of an Iraqi to protect his men in a combat situation.  Typical of todays wimpish military leadership he was disciplined.  West should have gotten commended for protecting the men under his command.  If we had more men like West we'd have taken fewer casualties.  George Soros is a master manipulator and I'd consider him to be the back end of a weather vane.  Anything he supports I tend to support the opposite.
