SEE HERE Mychal Massie's column back in February 22, 2012 reminded me of these lines from T.S. Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.
And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?
And how should I presume?
I suppose the reason I was reminded is that I thought Massie's characterization of Barack Obama and his wife was spot-on and captured the fundamental character of the couple, a couple bent on a program of transforming America into something Americans would not recognize anymore as the nation of opportunity that they or their fathers had come to in order to succeed and prosper.
