The Death of the Republic

SEE HERE There are lots of ways that the republic can die. The fastest way is to give Obama another term, but there are no less sure ways if we don't curtail the growth of the political class. We've just seen what can only be described as political corruption in the Republican Convention. It may not be the kind of corruption that transfers millions of dollars just the kind that keeps people from speaking or voting their minds in an orchestrated love fest to coronate a candidate. The party system is itself a factor but the increasing tendency to go into politics without ever having held a real job or learned how the nation actually works. We are creating our own mandarins who will become are masters soon enough if we don't find ways to change the path we are on. We need to defeat Barack Obama, but then we also need to defeat the Republican establishment and get the nation on the track to a system that rewards real jobs and real contributions and not just political wonks.
