Just Because His Lips Are Moving Doesn't Mean He's Making Sense

SEE HERE Barack Obama is a rhetorician.  He's an example of why the classical Greek philosophers Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle didn't think too highly of the Sophists.  The whole idea of rhetoric is to be persuasive, but not necessarily truthful.  Getting people to do what you want them to do is what it is all about.  Obama is really quite good at making empty rhetoric sound convincing.  Of course that is only until you think about what he was actually saying and realize that it had no content.
