A Trillion Here, a Trillion There, Pretty Soon You're Talking About Real Money

SEE HEREWhat a million, billion, trillion among ordinary people? Well the answer is that when you get into trillions you're talking about nominally half the ordinary annual income of the government from income tax. The whole economy is in the range of 14.4 trillion, so when we talk about missing the mark by 1.2 trillion, which this story claims, you're talking about half the government income for a year as an error. If you ever thought we need more government you really have to evaluate that position. We're already sinking under the weight of the load. A bit more and we can expect to slide into poverty as every nation has that created too large a government sector.
