Testing the Concept of Democracy

The problem with democracy which Aristotle and Plato viewed as mob rule, is that it represents the tyranny of the majority. When the majority discovers that they can take the property of the productive and distribute it among themselves the result is a form of tyranny and soon a form of poverty and squalor for all. When you cannot keep your property which you earned and created then that destroys what incentive you had to work hard and produce. Soon all exist at the subsistence level and blame the producers who no longer produce for their fate. Instead they should look to their own envy, greed, and sloth. Government that panders to these vices leads to the dissolution of civilization and culture. The next sloshing sound you hear is that of a great and noble experiment in freedom being flushed by the ignorant grasping for personal gain without the burdens of duty and the responsibility of citizenship.
