Earth to Newt: Forget It!

SEE HERE Newt Gingrich is someone I have a lot of respect for, intellectual respect. But in a lot of ways he's a total idiot. His personal life has been a mess and his long tenure in Washington and hanging out with the Washington elite seems to have rotted his brain. I no longer trust Newt to do the right thing which is a shame. When Bob Goodlatte was first running for Congress I told him that when he got up to Washington I'd like him to follow Newt Gingrich's lead. Newt was doing courageous Special Orders appearances at the time challenging the liberal establishment and articulating what it meant to be a Conservative. He led the Contract with America fight which led to a balanced budget despite all the claims by the Clinton administration that they did it.

Well today's Newt seems to be a different creature altogether. Too bad! I'd have voted for the old Newt in a heartbeat, but I think the new Newt, the brain rotted Newt, sounds like just another conciliator, a RINO pretending to be a Conservative. When he spun the personal mandate and attacked the efforts of Paul Ryan he lost whatever shred of continued support I had for him. He should just bow out. So should the other RINOs like Mitt Romney. We need new blood that isn't tainted by the Washington disease of appeasement. Before the republic sinks into the sea we need a knock down drag out fight. Compromising with the forces destroying the nation is no solution. KRAUTHAMMER AGREES
