"Greed" a Word Used to Malign the Productive
"Greed" as commonly used isn't greed at all. Self-interest is not greed. Walter Williams points that out. People generally don't do something for nothing. Charity is only appropriate for those who can't work for themselves. The notion that people have that someone owes them a living ignores the duty that they have to provide a living for themselves. Each human person, made in the image and likeness of God, has a fundamental dignity and with that goes fundamental obligations. "For also when we were with you, this we declared to you: that, if any man will not work, neither let him eat." — 2 Thess 3:10
