A Failure Of Judgment? When Is A Death Threatening Nut A Real Danger?

SEE HERE Red State reveals that Jared Loughner the shooter in the Arizona Congresswoman Giffords shooting which left six dead, has a long history of threatening people with death. Apparently he was not taken seriously enough. The problem is of course that people say wild things all the time. How do you tell the serious threats from the airbags? We need an improvement in civility.

I went to the latest version of "True Grit" last Friday and enjoyed it very much. One of the things that I remember most about the movie is the extreme formality of all the dialogue. I don't know if people every really talked this way, but it gave the movie a formal feeling even when the worst of the bad guys were speaking. Maybe we need to return to something more like that since it tends to teach self-control.
