SEE HERE This about sums it up as much as it can be. It's getting to be a National Security Issue and it's absurd that it has gone this far unless there is a problem. What is the big deal? If I have to show my birth certificate to get various services like Social Security or getting a passport, why doesn't the president have to demonstrate his citizenship? This whole thing has never made sense unless there really is a problem. With 43% of Americans in doubt, the issue not going away despite Obama spending nearly $2 million dollars to conceal all his personal papers (I haven't spent 10 cents to conceal mine) -- maybe it is time for a little common sense. When someone spends really big bucks to hide something, isn't it likely that there is something to hide?
[updated 1-2-2011 to correct statistics: 58% don't doubt Obamas eligibility, 20% do and 23% don't know — and yes I do know that adds up to 101% but they are the figures Chris Matthews used on air.]
