SEE HERE The blindness of the vast majority of the people about what is going on is depressing and tends to suggest that we will not put the breaks on and go into reverse in time to avert disaster. The politics of personal destruction and suppression of any idea that actually requires more than two neurons has tended to reduce political discourse to something like a gossip column and the elections to a popularity contest.
