SEE HERE If nothing else comes out of this at least we may clarify the conditions that make a person eligible to run for president. The question is the construction of "Natural Born Citizen." It doesn't mean just a citizen. Historically the only precedent I've seen cited is a 19th century case that found that a natural born citizen was a citizen who was born in the United States of two people who were citizens. That's a standard that Barack Obama does not meet since his father was not a citizen and never became a citizen. The other question is whether he was born in the United States.
The claim is that he was born in Hawaii, but he has so far failed to provide convincing birth certificates. He first provided what appears to be a forged certificate of live birth, which is not a birth certificate although it sometimes functions in a similar way, and then he finally provided a birth certificate which also appears to be forged. The original birth certificate has been kept hidden by the state of Hawaii if it exists. There has been testimony by individuals who claim to know that it in fact does not exist. Moreover, Kenya people have claimed he was born in Kenya. So the whole thing is very confusing and it needs to be cleared up if just for due process concerns. In any case it is another amusing avenue in the ongoing saga of Barack Obama, the only person I know whose only major accomplishment before becoming president seems to have been allegedly writing two books about himself.
