SEE HERE Since our "rulers" have decided they are above the law of the land, questions like "Where is that power conveyed in the Constitution?" are simply ignored with the equivalent of a wave of the hand! "Ta ta, you just don't understand," sniff sniff, "Simple plebeians."
Hopefully someone, somewhere cares about the law of the land or we're done in. The tenth amendment says:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Just what part of that is hard to understand? I think it is time for the several states to make it clear that the powers the current Congress is delegating to itself are in fact not powers that they have. All powers not explicitly assigned in the Constitution are reserved to the states. In fact what we need to do is to further define the limits of the interstate commerce clause through which the feds have driven many a bizarre extension of power. Time to rein them in before they are totally out of control, although it's not clear that point has not been reached.
