Poor? In America? Not Really!

SEE HERE The reality is that the poor in America are the richest poor on the face of the earth.  It's not that we don't have anyone who is really really poor for we certainly do.  But the people living below the official poverty line are not poor in the kind of sense that one sees when pictures of starving Africans are paraded around by fund raisers.  The poor in America have air conditioners, refrigerators, and televisions for the most part.  They are not malnourished, so much of the spin about poverty is the spin of contrasting the very wealthy with the least wealthy of Americans.  The very wealthy are very well off indeed.  And with enough spin we can generate envy among those who have less if material goods is all you want, but don't pretend that most people in America are hurting in any way but by suffering from the desire to have more than they can afford.  I was just looking at a truck I wouldn't mind having today and my wife complained about the gas mileage.  Some people don't have to worry about gas mileage like Al Gore whose carbon footprint in more than probably any other five hundred people combined.  The whole class warfare thing get pretty old when the people fomenting the problem are all wealthy themselves and just doing it to retain power.

If you want to talk about poverty then go and help those that are truly poor and stop pretending to be so concerned with the so-called poor that had to cut off the air-conditioner to reduce the electric bill.
