Why Regulation Doesn't Work
SEE HERE We keep hearing how things would be better with more regulation. It doesn't matter what, it's a liberal mantra. "Regulate, REGulate, reGULate ..." however you pronounce it it means limiting the supply and limiting supply always increases prices and usually costs as well. This example is hospitals but it doesn't matter, it's just an instance of a general rule. Does that mean we shouldn't regulate? Not exactly. But it does mean we should regulate something other than supply. Setting standards is one thing. Controlling access and availability is another. Finally, having the federal government involved is almost always a bad idea.
