The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country

SEE HERE Thomas Paine in 1776 "... What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. ..."

Earlier Patrick Henry had spoken at St. John's church in Richmond on March 23rd 1775. HERE " ... They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? ... "

The times weigh heavily on the soul for who would have imagined that a crisis of liberty would encroach on our lives in this time of relative plenty? Tyranny does not sleep and neither should we.
