Losing America! The Flight from Personal Responsibility

SEE HERE I remember a conversation I had with my dentist about twelve or so years ago. It was one of those pick up conversations you have as you shudder at the expected needle to shoot the Novocaine into your body for an exciting session of whining drills and the smell of almost burning tooth enamel. We were talking about what was wrong with things these days and I said something innocuous like "People just don't take responsibility for their actions anymore. Everyone wants to be a victim." The dentist stopped, which was comforting, and looked at me over his surgical mask, they always put those on to look professional or something, and said:"I'll have to remember that. I think you've hit it." or something like that. I was floored at the time that something my parents would have thought was just a truism, would be thought in any way profound. Now twelve years later we may be on the road to slavery and not only don't we resist, we actually seem to be seeking it out. So does greatness go down into the dust. The children of the children of the greatest generation are selling their souls for a bowl of pottage, government nanny-state pottage.
