SEE HERE "Dwarfs for the Dwarfs" was a cry in C.S. Lewis's final volume of the Chronicles of Narnia, "The Last Battle." The dwarfs contrived to see nothing but what they wanted to see and that's how Government employee unions behave, like myopic thugs who have only their own self-interest at heart. Thomas Sowell suggests that this is no surprise and that corporations are for corporations and politicians are for politicians. One wonders who is for the people? As usual Thomas Sowell calls it what it is "... one of a growing number of institutions which specialize in siphoning off wealth created by others, ..." and in the process generally destroying the well-being and livelihood of the workers they are supposed to represent. Short sightedness is not in short supply.
