The Tension Between Freedom And Equality

SEE HERE The battle cry of "Equality" has been a call to tyranny wherever it has been sounded. The reality of human existence is that we are not equal in any sense except the sense of existing. We differ along every dimension of our existence so that "equality" as an ideal is a false god. We ought to have equality of access, equality of opportunity in the sense of not erecting arbitrary barriers to advancement but equality imposed is a false equality. And anything imposed is a loss of freedom and a claim on the part of the imposing agency that there is a higher standard than freedom. And indeed there are higher standards than freedom, but equality is not one of them.
