Harry Reid has the unmitigated gall to suggest that those who reject the Government take-over of health care are like those who resisted the abolition of slavery. It is especially upsetting for such a remark to be made when the "benighted South" produced one of History's most virtuous men, General Robert E. Lee. Also, Thomas Jackson, when a small lad, taught a slave to read and write in exchange for pine knots so that he could stay up later in the evening and read his books. Both men opposed the Union and I think it was not over the abolishment of slavery. It shows Mr. Reid's true colours when he makes such a comment. It is one thing to make a comment and be ignorant of the facts, it's another to be educated and pervert the facts for the sake of political image; though a man of principle and in politics is of a rare breed.
