Politics — Sheer Lunacy

SEE HERE I always loving reading Thomas Sowell since he always strikes a tone that is the voice of reason in a world gone mad.  When Tom Sowell points out the obvious it has a way of seeming like a revelation.  Why don't the politicians and the media get it?  Why does absolutely everything have to be an over the top emergency end of the world crisis?  They are always trying to scare people and that's a bipartisan observation.  Some things are scary for sure.  Perhaps every scary claim needs to be prefaced by some statements that show it is a reasonable and well motivated claim.  Of course then the politicians and news media folks would have to think and that doesn't seem to be their strong suit.
