SEE HERE John Willke is a prominen pro-life doctor.  This article points out the reasons why the pregnancy to term of violent rape victims may be relatively small.  Akin of course isn't an expert and should not have been making expert sounding noises, but there are experts that take a position similar to the one he took.  Much of this kind of thing is in how you define the question, so it isn't a simple matter.  The accuracy of Dr. Willke's assertions about the probability of rape victims carrying a child to term are disputed.
