Exactly Why Did We Change? Oh Yeah ... Liberals!

SEE HERE  Walter Williams gives an example of why "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a good aphorism.  The crazies have been attacking the instrument instead of the culprit and they've been doing it for many decades.  It isn't altogether clear why.  Some would say they are well intentioned, but others would say they are just crazy.  When you do something over and over against expecting a different result you've behaving in a clinically insane way.  Liberals have been doing that over and over again.  There seem to be two possibilities: 1) they are crazy, or 2) they're up to something for which the crazy thing they are doing is a precursor.  I'm leaning towards #1 but I can't rule out #2 since to impose tyranny you first have to disarm the citizen and these guys in addition to being crazy are clearly also totalitarians.
