Can We Get Serious About Reducing Government?

SEE HERE This is what you might call, "A good start." I think we should be able to do much much more. We have too much government doing too many things that either don't need to be done at all, or need to be done closer to home where they can be watched. One of the principles I'm hugely in favor of is the principle of subsidiarity. Bascially that's the concept that if government needs to do something it needs to be done at the closed unit of government possible, preferably local, if not local regional, if not regional state and only in rare circumstances at the federal level. Just applying that principle consistently would shrink government and government spending. If you want to waste money there is no better way than sending it on a round trip to Washington.
