We Continue to Delude Ourselves: It's Time for Some Straight Talk

SEE HERE Read this paper and give yourself a reality check. China and Russia are not our friends. Islam is not a religion of peace. The world is a very dangerous place, and George Washington said: "In time of peace prepare for war." This is not the time to imagine that we can shrink the military a lot. I'm all for going in and trimming fat, but we need to recognize that the next war will be "come as you are." There won't be time, like in wars of past years to gear up. It will start and be over and if you're not careful you'll be a radioactive cinder. The biggest deterrent we have is our capacity to quickly and convincingly deliver power anywhere in the world. Nothing less is acceptable. Don't kid yourself.
