"A Republic If You Can Keep It!"

SEE HERE AT THE CLOSE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin what type of government the Constitution was bringing into existence. Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Our ability to keep the republic we have is greatly hazarded by the ignorance and disdain so many of our elected representatives show for the Constitution. It we do not restore the meaning of "limited powers" to the understanding of our form of government, than we will be headed into darkness. Every reader of history can cite the lessons. There are many. We do not wish to become the next.
