SEE HERE My son is a marine who served in Desert Storm. I think Jack Murtha was a disgrace to his country and his uniform. So I can't say I'll miss the 77 year old Murtha who died this past Monday. He reminds me of Frank Church whose Church Amendment was used to abandon our ally in the field after the enemy violated the treaty they had just signed. It was a disgraceful example of how the United States cannot be trusted. And it is because of people like Murtha and Church. Murtha and Church before him are a disgrace and should be remembered with a legacy of shame. Dishonor begins when one abandons ones obligations. Murtha and Church both did that.
Church turned a victory in Vietnam into a defeat. Murtha tried to stop the Iraq conflict by ensuring the pointless death of his fellow servicemen. I expect they both got an interesting reception on the other side.
