A Bit More On Ocean Acidification

SEE HERE It's simply amazing that we've all managed to survive without the attention of all the Chicken Little scientists that have been coming out of the woodwork. Science as we know it is only a few hundred years old. It is sobering to note that it wasn't until the 20th century that the atomic theory was finally confirmed and there is a good deal that we still don't know about almost everything. That makes is doubly funny that somewhere around the turn of the 20th century there were actually folks who thought everything had been discovered. But push comes to shove, we really don't know all that much. The worst argument of all is, well if it might possibly happen because we've spun a story about it, we have to stop everything and start throwing massive amounts of money around to stop the emergency. But the emergency is nothing more than a ghost story. Before believing the latest ghost story it would be nice to see something vaguely like evidence that ghosts exist. The ocean acidification story is the latest in a very long line of just so stories intended to stampede people into spending huge amounts of money on some politician or scientist's pet peeve. Count to ten and take a deep breath and recite after me: "Show me the data."
