Should Policy Be Driven By Facts?

SEE HERE Apparently not if it interferes with the policy you're pushing that will beggar your neighbors for no even detectable improvement in their life.
"But shouldn’t facts drive policy? Not according to Greenpeace spokesman Ben Stewart, quoted by the Times complaining that “[l]egitimacy has shifted to the side of the climate skeptics, and that is a big, big problem.”"
I guess truth has nothing to do with it then. Write off Greenpeace! They are not a serious player only in it for the politics obviously. If truth doesn't matter to you than you shouldn't matter to anyone else. Is that equation simple enough. If it isn't about reality then it is about special interest. Sorry, that's not in the public interest.
