Achievement As A Grievance

SEE HERE What's really at the heart of attacks on those who achieve through their efforts? It's a sort of envy I think that resents the success of those who work hard often by those who have hardly worked. Often people have an entitlement mentality that says that because they don't understand or don't see the efforts that made people successful then they must not have been honestly successful, instead their success was due to some sort of exploitation. You hear it all the time. It's not a rational thing. What it is seems to be disguised envy. Thomas Sowell nails it as usual. He points out that it has a long long legacy.
